What to Expect at Workday Rising and Workday Rising Europe

I love the fall season. The air smells fresher, it’s great running weather, and the countdown is on to the eggnog latte 🙂 . It’s also a great time to reflect on learnings from the past year and start making goals for the future.

Yet my very favorite thing about fall is it’s Workday Rising season. We’ve been excitedly working to create two outstanding customer events—Workday Rising in Las Vegas, Oct. 1-4, and Workday Rising Europe in Vienna, Nov. 13-15—and can’t wait to share what’s in store for our more than 12,000 expected global attendees.

We’ll offer many opportunities to learn, be inspired, and to grow. This year’s events will focus on ways we can “go further together,” which truly is what being a part of the Workday community is all about. We’ll network and celebrate—and we’ll unveil new innovations and strategies that allow organizations to best plan, execute, and analyze all in a single system. This will include details on our path forward with Adaptive Insights, a Workday company.

We know you have high expectations for these conferences, and we’ve continued to build upon all the great content and events you’ve come to expect from us, with each session and experience designed specifically with your job role, industry, and business opportunities in mind. You’ll hear from inspiring guest speakers—including other customers sharing their stories about business transformation.

With so much to do and learn, be sure to check back regularly as we finalize the agendas for Las Vegas and Vienna. And while it was hard to choose what to highlight, here are some of the things you will not want to miss!

Sessions on Digital Transformation and Innovation. The innovation cycle keeps getting faster, impacting every organization, team, and person. We’ll have a Business Leader Forum (BLF) focused on the critical role of finance leaders in driving digital transformation, and another BLF where business and technology leaders can hear from experts on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. In the Workday Innovation Keynote with our leadership team and in other sessions throughout the conferences, we’ll discuss how Workday’s latest advancements in machine learning and other emerging technologies are fueling new ways of working and creating value for our customers.

Sessions on Culture and Workforce Development. We know that people are your organization’s most valuable asset, and as such, culture and workforce development will be big focus areas at Workday Rising. Michael C. Bush, CEO at Great Place to Work—the global research firm that produces lists such as the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For—will be a keynote speaker in both Las Vegas and Vienna; he’ll share best practices from high-performing companies and illustrate how a great culture impacts financial and business success. We’ll also have a BLF on creating better connections among higher education, businesses, and communities, and one on the power of diversity and inclusion.

We’ll network and celebrate—and we’ll unveil new innovations and strategies that allow organizations to best plan, execute, and analyze all in a single system.

More Braindate Options. The Braindate program we introduced last year was so well-received that we’re bringing it back this year. You will once again have the opportunity to schedule 30-minute, one-on-one or small group sessions with other customers who can share their knowledge and experience in a particular area, or to share your own.

More Accreditation Opportunities. This year we’ve nearly tripled the number of accreditation sessions, increasing the opportunities for attendees to earn professional credits in accounting, human resource management, and payroll at Workday Rising in Las Vegas through our partnerships with the National State Boards of Accountancy, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the American Payroll Association.

Expanded Office Hours. Our Office Hours program is always popular, providing customers the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a product expert for 30 minutes of advice on configurations or Workday features. This year, we’ve added more time slots so that customers have more opportunities to utilize this free service.

Opportunities to Give Back. If you’re coming to Las Vegas, we hope you’ll consider a session on Oct. 4 where you’ll be able to mentor and participate in practice interviews onsite with those looking for jobs or better employment opportunities through a partnership with Nevada workforce development programs. Some of you joined us last year in Chicago for a similar program. These initiatives and more are a part of Opportunity Onramps, a growing movement across the Workday community dedicated to creating more economic opportunities for all. We deeply believe that talent is everywhere but opportunity is not, and your participation could help someone land a great, well-paying job.  For Vienna, we’re finalizing opportunities to give back and will have more to share soon.

Wellbeing and Fun. We’re making sure to include plenty of healthy food and beverage options on our menus, and we’ll soon share some exciting new initiatives for this year’s Workday Rising designed to help you put your wellbeing first, in addition to activities in Las Vegas such as beach yoga, a guided run, and meditation. We’ll have rooms for prayer and nursing mothers at both locations. And at Workday we’re big believers in having fun—if you’re a past attendee, you know we are serious about our Customer Appreciation Party. The highlight of our Las Vegas party will be the “Thunder” brought by the local community’s very own Grammy Award-winning rock band!

I hope you enjoy these last days of summer, while also sharing our excitement for the upcoming Workday Rising season and all the amazing things that happen when the Workday community comes together. See you soon!
